Marketing Myopia

As the the last page of slides in the class said, we should focus on our customers.
This is the essence of all the Myopia.
When I was thinking about push and pull method in marketing, the difference is that push is kind like old fashion without getting insight of customers. People doing the push, is planning their financial outcome all the time. They are not responsive to the market.  it was just like they are doing business on their own, then they will achieve the profit with their plan.

What we need to do is to stand on the customers' side and think what they think. We are going to be a marketer later. However, we are also customers all the time. Try to think why I like this product, why I would by this one rather than the other rivals. I assumer it will be helpful for us to think about customer insight.

When I see the example about milk shake in the class, it literally gave me a heuristic. Even you change all the details about the product itself, it just changes nothing in profit in the example. But if you change the price during the school dismissing hours, the situation may be better. It is all about why customers would like to pay. Is it because it taste good? Maybe. Timing will be the real answer for this example.

To bring the real benefit for the customers is what the marketers should focus on.
